The Magic of Being Present: What Disney Taught Me About Success
Let me paint you a picture
Five straight days at Disney World with a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old.
Yeah, I know what you're thinking.
What the hell was I thinking?
Trust me, I questioned my sanity multiple times during these days.
Between the endless walking, the cafeteria food, and managing two tiny humans' emotions (plus my own), it felt like running a marathon while juggling flaming torches.
But on that third day, something magical happened.
And I'm not talking about Mickey Mouse kind of magic.
Picture this:
It's 8 PM
I'm wearing our 1-year-old in a carrier (because let's be honest, we were all exhausted)
Standing in front of Cinderella's Castle.
The fireworks show is happening, and I catch a glimpse of my wife and our 3-year-old.
The look on their faces...
That moment hit me like a ton of bricks.
This is why I do what I do.
This is why I push myself every single day in my health journey.
This is why I invest countless hours in personal development.
This is why I pour everything into building and growing my business.
It's not about the thousands of dollars it costs to walk through those Disney gates.
Trust me, between flights, hotel, transportation, and food – it's a small fortune (more than our honeymoon).
It's not about charging everything to that magical Disney band (if you know, you know).
It's about creating these moments that become memories etched in our hearts forever.
Standing there, watching my family in complete awe of the spectacle above us.
I felt a thousand-pound weight lift from my shoulders.
For the first time ever, I truly realized – I'm living my dream life.
Now, don't get me wrong.
I still have goals.
But at 31, I finally had the breakthrough I've been working so hard for personally.
You see, last week I wrote about releasing the expectations others place on us.
About breaking free from the prison of our past.
Standing there at Disney, watching those fireworks light up the sky.
I realized just how much space I've created for growth by letting go of those expectations.
Here's the truth bomb I want to drop on you today:
You can chase all the success in the world.
You can stack up more money than you know what to do with.
But if you're not using it to create lifetime moments with your loved ones – what's the point?
Success isn't measured by the cars in your driveway or the figures in your bank account.
It's measured by the memories you create, the moments you share, and the joy you bring to those you love.
And speaking of moments – here's a piece of advice that hit home during our trip:
Put down your damn phone!!
During the fireworks. During the concerts. During the special moments.
Stop trying to capture everything through a screen and start experiencing it through your eyes, your heart, your soul.
Because at the end of the day, your kids won't remember how many Instagram stories you posted.
They'll remember how present you were.
How you held them.
How you shared in their wonder and excitement.
That's the real magic.
That's the real success.
To your success and freedom,
mm
P.S. What moments are you creating with your success? Hit reply and let me know – I'd love to hear your story of what makes it all worth it.
