We’re officially halfway through 2024!!

It’s time to reflect on where you are at with your 2024 goals as well as what you have been doing for the past 6 months.

​

Sit back as you’re going for a rollercoaster ride.

​

We spent January and February in Gulf Shores, AL like we have the previous three years and it’s great seeing how much our family loves it there. This year was much different than previous years as I worked more than ever before. Towards the end of our time in Gulf Shores, I started wondering how much longer I was going to have my corporate job and started piling on the stress. I started panicking to see if I was to lose my income, how would we be able to afford our lifestyle without having to cut our spending.
​

I was scrolling through Instagram one day and found Mike Brown who was teaching people how to build wealth and teach you how to make it unbreakable. The timing was perfect as I was trying to figure out how to take out liquid assets to support our family if I was to lose my job.

​

Early April, I parted ways from my corporate job and went from making 6-figures to $0 and not knowing where my next dollar was coming from.

​

I allowed myself one day to hit rock bottom but only for one day as I was going to use this to fuel my fire.

​

I went all out and opened everything up to Mike. Mike helped me figure out my plan of action, and provided me with the playbook of how to build a consulting business.

​

Went all in and started NexGen Consulting to help business owners learn how to structure and scale their business to 8-figures.

​

Within the first 90 days I’ve brought on five one-on-one clients and assisted two agents with purchasing books of business.
​

When you show up unapologetically in your life, great things happen.

​

I’ve been showing up every day since I was fired to make sure I never let my family down ever again and never let anyone ever tell me what I’m worth or hold the cards of my future.

​

Investing into Mike Brown’s mentorship program was my best investment yet. He’s taught me how to open up, sharing my experiences and mainly show up unapologetically.

That’s what I did when I took the stage in Chicago last month. I knew I was going to change lives when I was giving that presentation.

​

When you show up unapologetically to everything you do, great things will happen. Since embracing this mentality I’ve been able to obtain five more speaking engagements and have been invited into rooms that I could only have dreamed of.
​

Three books that have improved my mindset in 2024:
​

  1. ​Traction - This book really confirmed the way I look at business and how I was building my consulting business. You as the owner need to make sure the cards are stacked in your favor. I’m not talking about revenue, I’m referring to the systems and processes you have within your business. It’s your job to make sure it’s One Team and One Mission, everyone needs to understand where the business is going and get the correct people on the ship. It’s your responsibility to make sure everything is documented, if someone leaves you need to make sure the business can operate as is.

  2. ​Empire Builder - It talks about how you build empires and not just a business. A lot of the concepts in this book are similar to the concepts I use with my one-on-one consulting clients, we talk in depth about scaling your business and where to start. Everyone has big dreams but when it comes to implementation they don’t know where to start. I love how this book talks about M&A as the fastest way to grow your business and that’s why I added a third pillar to my business (more to come on that).

  3. ​Buy Back Your Time - This book has provided the most value of any book I have ever read in my life. I’ve read it two times already this year and have recommended it to all of my friends struggling with time management or looking to grow a business. It explains and shows you methods you can use to buy back your time to allow you to do items that energize you as well as working on your business.

What works for me:
​

  1. Mentorship - 2024 was the first time I’ve ever paid for a mentor and off of that investment I’ve received a 450% return on investment in 4 months and by the time the mentorship is over I'm projecting a 1500% ROI. I’ve never fully understood the value of paid mentorship until I met Mike Brown, he showed and provided me the playbook to success. It was my duty to take that and run with it! That’s what I did.

  2. Routine - During my time in Gulf Shores, AL I started working out again and getting up before 5 am. I created a morning routine that I’ve changed since starting to make sure it works for what I need. It’s the best thing I’ve done. Today I feel bad and guilty for the days I sleep in or not go for my morning walk. I've been able to lose over 30 pounds and clothes are starting to fit me better and for the first time in a long time I can wear clothes sized large.

  3. My family - I put myself at a higher level for my wife and kids than I do for anyone else. They are the reason I get up at 5 am in order for me to get my walk and sauna in before they wake up. I’m not perfect but I will be more present. I'm adjusting to my perfect calendar and saying no to things that don’t align with my goals and dreams for my family and my business.

2024 Goals
​

When I started this year I had goals that I didn’t know why they were goals. It wasn’t until the end of quarter one that I decided to make sure all of my goals had a purpose and meaning to them.
​

Build a $600,000 business by EOY 2025

Allows me to live my perfect calendar and have support staff to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Make 35 Under 35

This is an ego goal because I won 40 under 40 at the age of 30. I thought it would be cool to win 35 under 35.

Have 2 successful businesses

I’m building an empire, and over time I’m going to want to have two businesses. One will be my consulting business which is my day to day and the second business would be in the real estate business.

Debt is paid off

We were debt free before we purchased our lake house last September, it’s nice when you don’t owe anyone anything.

$300,000 in Passive Income

Building our passive income to $300,000 which allows us the flexibility to fully retire when we would like.

Be able to make a difference during Holiday Season

We’re very fortunate to have and be where we are today at the age of 31 and 33. We both love to give back when we can and want to teach our kids the importance of providing to those who are less fortunate than us.

Donate $5,000 by EOY 2024

I donated $5,000 to the NABIP’s PAC which is used to support bills that are in favor of healthcare. I’ve also been a member of 100 Men of Dane County where we all donate $1,000 per quarter to a local charity in Dane County. I pledged to donate another $1,000 per year to help offset the Non-Profit expenses.

Make 40 Under 40

It was a goal of mine to be considered part of the elite within my age group and that came through when I won 40 under 40 at the age of 30.
